Along with everything else life demands, we also yearn to form lasting bonds with our children. But it's so hard to remember to give them that precious one-on-one time they need and to fit that into our busy schedules. Our family often forgets to make time to make each child feel special. I decided to implement a schedule to we could make FAMILY a priority each and every month. You can download these free printable charts. One has our family's categories and one is blank so you can make your own categories to suit your family needs.
Our Categories Are:
Date with Mom // This child gets a date with Mom on this month. We always coordinate this with our paycheck schedule.
Date with Dad // This child gets a date with Dad on this month. We always coordinate this with our paycheck schedule.
VIP for the Day // You can do this on the same day as the child's birthday. So if it were Chicken's month her VIP for the Day would fall on the 26th since that is the day her birthday is on in February. You can also choose any day that works. On their day they get to choose dinner. Sit in the front seat of the car (if they're old enough), choose their spot at the dinner table, choose what the radio station in the car is, etc.
Chore-Free Day // One day in the month a child can opt out of their chores.
Other Category Ideas:
- Staying up 30 minutes late one night.
- Choosing a fun family treat
- Sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's House
- Special packed lunch for school OR check out of school for drive-thru lunch
- 30 extra minutes of screen time
