Negativity Not Welcome

To the woman who left the snarky comment about
the Microwave Caramel Popcorn treat on Lesson #33,

Imagine coming into Relief Society one day at church and sitting next to me. I am pale looking, with no make-up and I am clearly uncomfortable from being so pregnant in this Summer heat. I have been on moderate bed rest for the past 10 weeks and you know I am juggling my calling in the RS Presidency as well as the two toddlers I have at home.

Although I am 7 months pregnant I have clearly lost weight, 20 pounds to be exact, which testifies to continued throwing up even in my third trimester. You may have been asked to bring me a meal during my two different stays in the hospital during this pregnancy.

Now, you ask me how I am doing and I mention that despite all of this craziness in my life that my family held Family Home Evening last week about Learning in the Home. I tell you how difficult it is to attempt FHE during this time, but that we managed to have a lesson, craft, songs, scriptures and we even made some microwave caramel corn and tied it into the lesson.

To which you turn to me in disgust and say "Microwave Caramel Corn?!? Well, other than that it sounds like you had a good lesson."

Can you imagine saying that to my face?
No?
Then why write it on my blog?

In future, if you don't like something I write here or include in my FREE lessons, please feel free to click the little X on the top right of your screen.

Sincerely, Emilie

It's funny what people think they can say when writing it on a blog or in an email...but would never ever say that to your face...I think you're wonderful and reading the things you do each day in raising your family...well, I wish we lived closer so we could hang out and our kids could be friends!!!

My family is lucky if we even get a treat for FHE, let alone tying it in... and I'm not pregnant. I think you're doing an amazing job. I love the lessons!

Emilie, this website it the reason we do family home evening. I don't think I can put into words how that has impacted our family. We don't make treats for our family home evenings, but my kids look forward to them each week. Microwave popcorn is delicious, but your amazing, well though out lessons are brilliant and very appreciated. As a mom that works 2 jobs to put her husband through school...it makes all the difference! I don't have time to get lessons like this together. Your efforts make all of that possible!

Seriously, you go! I have been there. All of what you had written, only I was too sick to do FHE. Kudos to you for doing it. Take what people say with a grain of salt. Good luck hanging in there!

I absolutely adore every lesson you've done. I love the ideas, I love the plans, I love that you even have the treats planned. I don't always do exactly what you do, especially when it comes to treats (because I'm lazy) but why in the world would I ever criticize your choice when you've planned my family nights for 8 months now? Sheesh. You're awesome, Em. Awesome.

WOW, I'm so sorry someone was ugly to you! I love your site and LOVE that you are so willing to share what you do with your family. I and so many others use your ideas to help my family grow!! I am very busy too - I work a full time job, own my own business, and have two kids and a husband to take care of so I appreciate all you do!

That is terrible!!! I thought the carmel corn was the best part!!! LOL! It was delicious! I need to get back in the habit of letting you know how awesome your lessons are and especially the treat ideas. We were getting tired of our plain ole- stand-by of ice cream. plain ice cream. :) So, thanks for your awesomeness!!!

So sorry that someone thought it was okay to leave you a rude comment. I enjoy your lessons and draw inspiration from them regularily.

I too had difficult pregnancies and can attest to how you are feeling. I pray you will see an easment of your "syptoms" soon.
