Week 8 Follow-Up

This week's FHE was a bit rushed for us. Last week I accepted the call to be the 1st Counselor in the Relief Society Presidency. And last night I had to make a mad dash to the church and make copies for tonight's Relief Society Meeting about Freezer Meals (based on my other blog).

I did have a space of time yesterday afternoon while Evangeline was taking her nap to make our cupcakes from a mix and allow them to cool. Many weeks we don't get to the treat if I'm too busy, but this week it was the big hit of the FHE! Of course, ours don't look nearly as fancy-shmancy as the originals, but that's part of the fun.

In return for providing you with free FHE plans, I request that you leave comments on your Year of FHE experiences to encourage others. Feedback on lesson plans, photos of your family and stories from your FHE are so inspiring! See CONTACT button for email instructions.

We had our first family home evening using your materials last night. Since we started at the end of February, we combined 2 of the lessons. We're really excited about the goals our girls made for the week. Thanks for doing these- we love them.

PS- we made brownies in heart shaped muffin pans so that the girls could see my love :)

We had a kind of rushed FHE last night, but it was really great. My husband and son are named after Daniel, so the story is one of our favorites. My boys were really into it and are excited to come home from school today to color the coloring page. Thank you, Emilie!

I also used part of your lesson yesterday. I modified it a bit and had my kids tell me the story since they are a little older and we also combined it with being kind to each other since that has been an issue lately. We concluded by setting goals and a tangible reward. It went over really well! (Except this morning they had forgotten all about it :) I guess that's why they say repetition is a good thing!)
